From September to October the well-known rice fair Fiera del Riso once again brings risotto and other rice dishes to Isola della Scala in the province of Verona.

The rice fair takes place in Isola della Scala in the province of Verona. The area in and around Isola della Scala is the main growing area for rice and so the place and its event attract thousands of people every year.
There are stalls of different rice producers like Ferron or Melotti that prepare both traditional risotto, especially the risotto all’Isolana (a special preparation of risotto tastasal) and newer varieties such as risotto with herbs and salted ricotta, risotto with leeks, bacon and stracchino cheese and many other dishes made of rice including desserts.
Finally, there are also stalls exhibiting and selling articles for houses and garden, clothing, gift items and other typical foods.
