On Lake Garda, there is an alternative to the famous “Spritz” aperitif. It is called “Hugo” and originates in South Tyrol, but is also drunk in the areas around Lake Garda and the Triveneto, and in the regions bordering Austria and Germany.

Hugo is a slightly alcoholic, prosecco-based drink to which elderflower, mint and soda water are added.

Mix the following ingredients in a glass with ice cubes:

  • 6 cl prosecco
  • 6 cl soda
  • 3 cl elderflower
  • mint leaves
