- 500 g* flour
- 2 eggs
- ½ glass of milk
- 100 g sugar
- 100 g soft butter
- 15 g cream of tartar (baking powder)
- 5 g bicarbonate
- a pinch of salt
Mix together all ingredients until the dough is solid. Cover the dough and let it rest for an hour.
Butter the baking mould and cover it with flour (otherwise any round tray will do). Knead for a few minutes, then form strips and cut them out (or form rings by joining the end of the strips).
Bake at 170 degrees for 40 minutes until golden.
Ciambelle are best paired with custard and a glass of Recioto wine.
