The “MTB Garda Marathon” and the “Cycle Marathon of the Town of Garda” start in Garda on Sunday, April 2nd 2017.
The combination of panoramic views, emotions and adrenaline rushes on breathtaking trails between Lake Garda and Monte Baldo attracts athletes from all over the world. Two bike events with different starting times: the “MTB Garda Marathon” over a 61 km distance starts at 9 am and the Cycle Marathon of the Town of Garda over a 36 km distance at 10.30 am. Maximum time for both until 4.30 pm.
The “MTB Garda Marathon” is a very picturesque but challenging course with a difference in altitude of 2.200 metres. The first climb of 4.5 km leads the participants to Monte Luppia with a magnificent view of the Bay of Garda. From the villages of Coi and Loncrino the long climb of about 12 km brings them to San Zeno di Montagna where they continue going up the slopes of Monte Baldo. Having passed the King of the Mountains part, they follow a long descent through a fascinating pine forest towards Castion and Garda. At this point the two tracks come together and all participants cycle on the same path through Val di Molini, focusing on a final effort to reach the summit of la Rocca del Garda before enjoying the final descent that leads to the lake.
The easier “Cycle Marathon of the Town of Garda” over 36 km has adifference in altitude of 1.200 metres. The route follows the MTB Garda Marathon to the villages of Coi and Loncrino. They separate along the slopes of Monte Baldo at the height of the Lumini Forest and reunite on the track from the pinewood to the lake shore.
The exhibition area along the lakeside Regina Adelaide allows companies to present their products, innovations and accessories and forms a meeting point for sports enthusiasts, athletes and spectators.
