The athlete Louie Zamperini, protagonist of Angelina Jolie’s “Unbroken“, has Veronese roots: his father came to the United States from Brenzone.

“Unbroken”, the new film directed and produced by Angelina Jolie, hit the Italian cinemas on Thursday, 29 January 2015. It tells the true story of the Italo-American Olympic athlete Louis “Louie” Zamperini, who joined the airforce during the Second World War. The story of his family, as recognised and documented by the CTG Brenzone tourism association, begins precisely in the province of Verona: it is from here that his father emigrated overseas to try his fortune.
